B2B Concert of Prayer – Non-Negotiable #724

CONCERT OF PRAYER

Pray Week 724

“Non-Negotiable ”

Romans 14:10 (ESV) … we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.

The old saying goes that God made men, but Sam Colt made them equal. Horace Mann stated that “Education … is the great equalizer of the conditions of men…” The truth of the matter is found in the infallible Word of God:

The rich and the poor meet together; the LORD is the maker of them all. – Prov 22:2

…it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment… – Hebrews 9:27

The great equalizer of all mankind is that we are created by God and that these bodies we are given will die and we will all bow before Him. We all pass this way only once and we will all acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord. This is the inevitable fact of life. It is non-negotiable. It is not open for debate. There are no loopholes to be found in the truth of God’s Word. We have a saying, ‘My way or the highway’. God would say to us, ‘My way IS the highway’. In fact God says His way is the ONLY way.

Why then do we act and behave as if this life will never end? Why do we choose to burn time away selfishly seeking to satisfy the lusts and desires of our flesh without giving our Father God a second thought? Why do we spend our energy and time chasing after a counterfeit ‘good life’ and never being able to have rest, contentment, and peace in the abiding presence of our Lord? The wisest man that ever lived called it ‘a chasing after the wind’.

I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind. – Ecclesiastes 1:14

God did not give us life for the sole purpose of entering a competitive rat race to see how much we can accumulate and consume during the finite time we have here on earth. Our natural flesh will never be content and always want more. We become a slave to its passions when we make our priority the things of this world. God wants our priority in this life to be to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. Our first priority must be a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ who has reconciled us to a Holy God by His death and resurrection. This is non-negotiable.

Time is a gift from God. We are all given a finite amount of it determined by God. This too is non-negotiable. How are you investing it? Is the majority of your time being wasted in pursuit of fleeting selfish pleasures? Or is your time wisely invested for eternal dividends by seeking God first and serving Him in the here and now?

When you go to work, take Him with you. Serve your customers (even the difficult ones) with love in His Name and for His glory. Serve your coworkers and those whom you supervise in the same manner. See all people through His eyes of love. Act selflessly and not selfishly toward your spouse, family, coworkers, even strangers.

This is impossible for the natural man to do with any consistency. However, through the abiding presence of God’s Holy Spirit, this can be your identifying character. May you heed the non-negotiable truth of God’s Word and invest your life today with eternity in mind.

Close in prayer, thanksgiving & dedication of your work to the glory of God
