SWORD OF THE SPIRIT 1149
“No Eye Has Seen”

But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him” – 1 Corinthians 2:9
Do you ever push the ‘PAUSE’ button on your busy life and stop and reflect on the awesomeness of God and what He has done, is doing and will do in your life – for eternity?
I recently camped at the Suwannee River and our campsite had a dock overlooking the river. Early morning devotionals on that dock watching the sunrise fed my soul.
God’s creation speaks scripturally to us if we pause to observe and reflect on His Word. I watched the early morning mist caress the Palm and Live Oak trees. Then I watched it burn off and fade away as the sun rose higher in the sky and I was reminded how short our life here is on earth.
…yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. – James 4:14
I watch the fish gently ripple the glassy surface of the water feeding on insects. I heard the birds singing and getting their food from the same insect population. The stillness of the morning was disturbed only by the bull frogs leaping out of the water to also gather their food and I was again reminded how God our Father cares for His creation and how much more He cares for us who He created in His image.
… Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. – Matthew 6:25-32
In the stillness and beauty of God’s creation, the peace of Christ will flood your soul. The Holy Spirit will give you wisdom to let go of love for the world and to reach for and embrace the abiding presence of Jesus, both now and for eternity.
So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. – Psalm 90:12
We can only imagine what God has prepared for us for eternity. The awesomeness that we see in His creation is but a glimpse of what we will see and experience when He calls us home to be with Him. May you hit the ‘pause’ button and immerse yourself in His presence.
How Great Thou Art Lyrics

I See The Stars, I Hear The Rolling Thunder, Thy Power Throughout The Universe Displayed. Then Sings My Soul, My Saviour God, To Thee, How Great Thou Art! How Great Thou Art!
