Pray Week 996

“Election Year Prayer”

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (1 Chronicles 7:14)

Our Father in Heaven, I stand with my brothers and sisters in Christ in this concert of prayer for our nation and this election year. We repent of our sins and our neglect of fellowship with You. We repent for our compromises with this world that have diluted our faith and calloused our hearts against the pure and whole Truth of your Word. We seek your face Lord and humbly ask that you will forgive us and cleanse us from our sin and heal our land.

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.  Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. (1 Chronicles 29:11-12)

Our times are in your hand and we acknowledge that You are sovereign, Lord. We trust in you and in your great love and mercy.

For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations. (Psalms 22:28)

Father, we pray for the people and the leaders of this nation that by Your Holy Spirit their hearts would be turned to You. We pray that our hearts would be burdened with what burdens Your heart.

We pray for wisdom by Your Spirit in deciding whom to vote for.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. (2 Corinthians 10:4)

By the power of Your Name, Jesus we come against the demonic forces that would seed apathy, despair, and confusion into the hearts of Your people. We pray that the Holy Spirit would encourage your people and strengthen them with boldness to stand and be light and salt in this nation and to exercise their faith by voting their faith.

So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (James 2:17)

Father we ask that Your Holy Spirit would sweep across this nation as a refiner’s fire and purify us and cleanse us of our iniquity. Bring revival in our nation and return our hearts to you. May revival begin with this election.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! (Psalm 33:12)
