B2B Concert of Prayer – If My People #978

CONCERT OF PRAYER

Pray Week 978

if my people“If My People”

if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Our land needs healing. One needs only look at the current political climate and state of the union to see how desperately our nation needs healing. We need integrity in leadership. We need a moral center to be reestablished in our leadership. We need men and women in leadership of Judeo-Christian faith who are willing to humble themselves before God and seek His face and to turn this nation from its wicked ways.

We the people—those of us who profess to be Christians—we are the ones who collectively can strongly influence the election of our leadership. Are we willing to humble ourselves and seek the Lord’s face in choosing such people? Or are we seeking a ‘king’ someone just like all the other nations and by doing so reject God?

When Samuel became old, he made his sons judges over Israel… Yet his sons did not walk in his ways but turned aside after gain. They took bribes and perverted justice. Then all the elders of Israel gathered together … and said to him… “Now appoint for us a king to judge us like all the nations… Give us a king to judge us”. And the Lord said to Samuel, “… they have rejected me from being king over them.. (1 Samuel 8:1-8)

God’s chosen person will most likely not fit our expectation. He chose David, Moses, and Gideon. Jesus was also rejected as king because He did not fit the worldly king persona that the people desired.

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)

We the people, the evangelical church body of Christ in this nation, must be actively involved in the election process. We must not remain apathetic only to complain later about who was elected.

I exhort you my brothers and sisters in Christ to humble yourselves before God and to prayerfully seek His face and direction in this election process. Be involved. Be heard. Be the church, active and alive and influential. Be salt and light in this dark world.

May the Holy Spirit awaken His church in America. May we the people of God, His children, humble ourselves and seek His face and direction to elect leadership with a solid moral center and integrity of character. May we elect leaders who know and fear God and who will humble themselves before God prayerfully seeking His face for wisdom in making America whole and great again.
